Cape home shot with arrow, man claims foul play

MARSTON’S MILLS, Mass. -- A man on the Cape said a dispute with his neighbors took a dangerous turn after someone shot an arrow through a window in his home, causing damage and frightening his family.
“It sounded like a gunshot. First thing that came to mind, it sounded like a gunshot. I rolled onto the floor and I was like hey get down and everyone stay away from the windows,” said Jeffrey Perry.
Perry made sure his family was safe and grabbed his flashlight.
“There was an arrow coming from this window, through the screen and into the back of a television here,” said Perry.
“It looks like it’s a 16-inch arrow, silver tipped, razor type blade on it, looks like it came from a crossbow. The arrow went through the blinds, the screen and the window and embedded into the back of a 32 -inch TV,” said Sgt. Sean Sweeney of the Barnstable Police.
Perry believed that the incident was not accidental or random. He was set to testify in court the day after the arrow came through his window to file a complaint against another man.
That man has been given a stay away order.
Jeff believes the television saved his life.
“It used to work, it doesn’t anymore. I leave it here to protect me right now,” said Perry.
“It would do some damage, it has the potential to kill you,” said Sgt. Sweeney.
Police said it appeared that the arrow was shot from close range and they have that arrow for evidence.
