Hyannis man charged with assault

HYANNIS, Mass. (WHDH) -- A Cape Cod man is behind bars accused of trying to kill another man yesterday.

Police said 20-year-old Dylan Smith shoot a 28-year-old man in the leg at Hyannis Friday afternoon.

The victim is expected to be okay.

He was able to provide police with a description of Smith and police tracked the suspect down a short time later.

Smith is facing assault with intent to kill.
