Police arrest 100 people in Conn. drug bust
NORWICH, Conn. (WHDH) -- One hundred people were arrested as part of a major drug bust in Connecticut, Thursday.
They will be charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
“The fact is we’ve dismantled them. We’ve taken them down. Today the people of Connecticut and, ultimately, New England are safer from the inevitable violence that drug trafficking brings,” said an officer.
Officers were seen raiding a home in Norwich.
Federal, state, and local authorities worked together, tapping telephone lines, running surveillance, and intercepting drugs hidden in mail.
Agents praised the work of investigators during the exhausting 15 month investigation.
