Framingham man accused of killing wife testifies

WOBURN, Mass. (WHDH) -- The trial resumed Tuesday for a Framingham man accused in his wife's murder.

Kyle Alleyne, 27, is accused of stabbing his 19-year-old wife to death. Police say he stabbed her 13 times because he was angry she gave birth to another man's child.

Alleyne testified he and his teenage wife Heather had a good relationship -- but he admitted he wasn't happy when she gave birth two weeks before the murder.

“I found out that I was not the father and I relayed this to Heather and we were both upset,” Alleyne said in court.

Prosecutors say Alleyne stabbed his wife to death inside their Framingham apartment in the summer of 2010, because he was upset about his wife's affair.

Alleyne testified he discovered his wife's body in their bedroom, but did not harm her in any way.

“It occurred to me that whoever did that might still be in the house, so I went in the baby’s room and I checked the closets. I looked under the crib – as stupid as that sounds – I actually looked in all the cabinets to make sure there wasn’t somebody still in there. And then when I was satisfied there was nobody in there, I sat on the couch for a little while and I was just puking. There was puke all over myself,” Alleyne said.

A prosecutor challenged Alleyne's version of events, including why he agreed to let his wife's boyfriend have custody of her two week old baby.

Alleyne fled to Mexico after his wife’s death. He explained he never reported his wife’s death, and lied repeatedly to police in Texas once he was caught, simply because he didn’t trust the police and he knew they’d try to pin the murder on him.
