MILFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -- A police officer's duty is to protect and serve -- but one man in Milford called 911 with a different idea of what that meant.
A man called 911 and demanded a police officer come to Wendy’s early Wednesday morning and pick him up so he could order a meal. Police believe the caller was drunk and hungry.
"I need somebody to drive me through the drive thru at Wendy's so I can get some food," the man said to the dispatcher.
The dispatcher had something else in mind, and it didn't come with fries or a drink.
"Send an officer out to give you a ride to jail for misuse of 911, you're at Wendy's currently?" the dispatcher replied.
Police say when they arrived at the Wendy’s they couldn't find the man.
No arrests have been made.
