WOBURN, Mass. -- An Acton woman will go before a judge this week to face murder charges in the death of her 13-month-old son.

Christina Hancock is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Woburn Superior Court.

The 23-year-old Hancock is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly beating her son, Kaydn Hancock, to death.

Prosecutors say the boy was home alone with his mother and 2-year-old sister the night of May 11 to 12, and that Hancock called 911 early on May 12 and said her son had fallen out of his crib.

An autopsy showed the boy had internal bleeding and multiple traumatic injuries, including contusions to his stomach, liver and colon. The medical examiner ruled the boy's death a homicide from blunt force trauma.
