LEXINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Fire officials say a man in Lexington tried to commit suicide by ingesting cyanide, which prompted a HazMat response.
Police say the man called 911 to say that he had taken cyanide. When first responders arrived, they found the man -- in his 30s -- in alone his vehicle on Maguire Road, and still conscious. He was then transported to Lahey Clinic.
HazMat crews decontaminated the area and towed away the man's car.
Police say the man works at a company nearby and has access to chemical like cyanide.
The condition of the man remained unknown late Friday night.
