Man found with serious injuries on Framingham street
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -- A man was found lying on the side of the street with serious injuries in Framingham on Tuesday.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Elda and Eleanor Roads. Police are investigating to see whether the man was dropped off at the location, or if it was a hit and run.
A man visiting a friend in the neighborhood made the shocking find. He says he found a 21-year-old man badly hurt and bleeding in the street.
“I was the one that was there and a few other people came around and they would all agree that we don't know what happened,” the man said.
The man -- who didn’t want to show his face on camera -- quickly called 911.
“I walked up to him to see if he could communicate. He could not, he was unconscious, and the only thing that I could really do was to wait for the ambulance -- a person in that condition you just try to get them help and hope for the best for him and we stayed with him in case he did wake up,” the man said.
Police say the victim had severe head trauma. They say his injuries could have been caused by getting hit by a car, but there was no car at the scene.
“When I did turn in here I did see another car leaving. I don't know if they saw anything or if they were involved. I couldn't tell you who they are,” the man said.
The victim was taken by helicopter to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries as investigators worked the scene to figure out what exactly happened.
“I’m not shocked if it was a hit and run because we do get a lot of high-speed traffic that shouldn’t be here,” a neighbor said.
But it's unclear what happened.
“It’s kind of mystery. Anyone who tells you they know what happened is probably not being accurate,” the man said.
There was no word on the condition of the victim.
