MIDDLEBORO, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police are searching for the person responsible for stealing car filled with special memories.

Kim Haigh lost his best friend Dana Lablier to a stroke back in January and now he feels like he's lost her all over again after someone stole his car with some very important pictures of Dana inside.

“What were in it were a lot of collage pictures of her growing up from when she was a little girl and they’re gone,” Haigh said.

Lablier left behind two young boys, so Haigh had been planning a big fundraiser for them.

“It's coming up this Saturday,” Haigh said.

All of those pictures were going to be at that event.

“I just wish they would leave Dana’s things somewhere or the car somewhere that we could get them back her family for us,” Haigh said.

Haigh says someone stole his car this past weekend from a driveway on South Main Street in Middleboro.

“The next morning when I woke up my car was gone at five in the morning,” Haigh said.

The thief might not have realized that in the car were irreplaceable pictures of woman whose life touched so many.

“They mean everything. It was her family -- her brothers, her sisters, her baby pictures, her grandparents. Pictures of her with her family,” Haigh said.

Now he's praying that whoever took his car will have a change of heart.

“I was really kind of hoping they would see what was going on and leave the things,” Haigh said.

Haigh said he filed a report with police.
