Fatal crash in Avon closes Rte. 24 North

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- A fatal rollover accident shut down Route 24 North in Avon Thursday afternoon.

State police said when troopers arrived at the scene they discovered two adult female victims and one juvenile female victim laying on the roadway.  The girl, who is approximately 12 years old, died.

State police said a preliminary investigation revealed that at least two of the victims were ejected during the accident.  

A medical helicopter was called to the scene and transported one of the adult victims to Boston Medical Center, according to state police. 

The second adult woman was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center and the condition of the two injured adults is unknown, state police said.

There was a 31-mile backup on Route 128 South around 6 p.m.
