NEEDHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -- Aly Raisman has given her fans several magical moments to remember, and for her family back home -- it was a fitting end to a journey that started years ago in Massachusetts.

It was another golden moment for Aly Raisman on Tuesday.

The Needham native brought home the gold medal for her floor exercise.

Her aunt, uncle and cousins huddled around a computer watching in newton say they couldn't be prouder.

“World class. And you know her life of training really paid off and we're so proud of her and our whole family is proud of her,” said Michael Bogart, Aly’s uncle.

“We had no doubt, this is her specialty. She’s the best in the world and she proved to everyone why she’s the best,” said Lauren Bogart.

They say Aly’s parents are beyond happy right now.

“They're in heaven, I mean, they wanted this so bad for her. She’s given up so much of her life for this and it’s dream come true and she deserves every minute of it. She’s really special,” Lauren Bogart said.

Aly also won the bronze medal for the balance beam. But for a little bit, it looked like she was going to come in fourth again like she did in the all around and lose the tie. But this time, it went Aly's way.

“When I saw the score I thought it looked a little low because it scored only in the 14’s which I thought was a low number. And when they refigured it, it came out in the 15’s, so it came out good,” said Marty Raisman, Aly’s grandfather.

Aly’s family is so proud of the most decorated us gymnast at the London games.

“Unbelievable. A lot of dedication. It’s just a phenomenal thing,” said Marty Raisman.
