Police search for Wellesley rape suspect
WELLESLEY, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police in Wellesley are searching for a suspect investigators say is wanted for raping an underage girl.
Police are looking for help finding Mariano Pereyra, a 54-year-old who could be driving a red 1999 Toyota Corolla.
The statewide search is part of a Wellesley police investigation into the repeated rape of a child.
According to investigators, Pereyra knew the child. They’re working to get a warrant for his arrest.
Police aren't saying where the attacks happened. They say they have no address for the suspect who has ties to Boston, Wellesley and Watertown.
So far, there's no evidence to show whether he's left the area.
Police departments and people across the state are being asked to keep their eyes peeled for his red Toyota.
