FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WHDH) -- Superstitious Pats fans showed off some pregame rituals they believe will help their team make it to the Super Bowl.
“Well I always tie my right shoe first and I always wear my Wes Welker jersey,” said a young fan.
Some fans are going as far as to say their pregame rituals will guarantee a win.
“Before every game I make sure I put on my socks backwards, for sure, that's the first thing I do and I wear my special long underwear or we will never win,” said another fan.
“I always have to wear this hat. As you can tell it has seen a lot of seasons and it's not in great shape,” said a fan.
“I haven’t changed my underwear since Wednesday…it's good luck I wore them the last time they won, and I've been holding them off, I put them on Wednesday. I think it’s going to bode well,” said a fan.
Maybe it's the biting New England wind, maybe it’s years of success, but underwear seemed to be a running theme out at Gillette.
One superstitious fan has held on to the same pair of underwear for 10 years.
“I wear the same underwear to each game,” she said.
Others take a different approach.
“We don't take the Christmas tree down till we win the Super Bowl,” said another fan.
Not wanting to create any fire hazards one decade-long season ticket holder has really let his superstition get to his head.
“My hair is in honor of the Patriots,” he said, showing off some beaded cornrows.
This fan has not cut his hair since the Patriots 2007 season when they lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl. His friends joke that they add a bead for every Patriots touchdown.
Fans are doing whatever they can to help out their team!
