Good Samaritan returns lost wedding ring

DERRY, N.H. (WHDH) -- A trip to a New Hampshire Wal-Mart turned into a nightmare, for a woman after she lost both her wedding and engagement rings in the store.

She thought her rings were gone forever, but luckily for her, this lost and found story has a better ending.

The ring slipped off somewhere in the parking lot and the woman didn’t notice they were missing until she was inside the store.

Elaine Hodnett said when she noticed both rings had fallen off she retraced her steps, looked through recycling bins to try to find them.

Fortunately, before she left the store, a good Samaritan had turned the rings into customer service, without leaving their name.

“This person just showed amazing integrity and turned them in, no questions asked,” said Hodnett.

By the time Hodnett retrieved the rings, the person who had found them had already left the store. She said she wanted to offer some sort of reward or at least say thank you.
