Twitter page features blacked out UNH students
DURHAM, N.H. (WHDH) -- A University of New Hampshire Twitter page that features severely inebriated students is gaining a lot of followers.
The pictures show the students blacked out on the floor, on top of closets, and in dorm room hallways. It doesn't matter where they are, as long as they're drunk and unconscious.
"I think it's just stupid. That stuff has been happening forever, but now it's online, it’s a lot more known to adults obviously,” said Colin Cambo, a student.
One picture shows someone passed out near railroad tracks.
But the students don't always shame themselves with pictures of drunken blackouts. Sometimes, they show off their ammo at the beginning of the night. One picture shows 34 bottles of hard liquor.
The Durham police chief told 7News medical calls for alcohol poisoning are on the rise, and worries what kind of affect these pictures, now on the Internet forever, will have on students when they hit the job market.
Students 7News spoke with aren't looking that far ahead.
"I think it's pretty much just kids being students. I've actually seen some of my friends on there,” said John Aherin, a student.
A UNH spokesperson sent 7News a response saying: "We regularly encourage and educate our students to be safe and smart online… Any criminal behavior will be investigated…"
