Tractor trailer hits commuter rail bridge in Malden

MALDEN, Mass. (WHDH) -- A tractor trailer slammed into a commuter rail bridge in Malden Wednesday night.
The roof was completely ripped off. No one was hurt.
Transit police say structural engineers inspected the bridge before was reopened to train traffic. The inspector said trains will be able to run on the bridge.
A witness described the scene that unfolded in front of him.
“He was driving by, all of a sudden we just heard kind of a crash, looked out the window and it looked like a can of sardines opened up. Then he tried to back up, we were like, ‘Why is he backing up? He wants to go under it again?’ and then couldn’t go anywhere,” said Darren Danico, a witness.
According to transit police, the truck from Florida was hauling orchids and plants.
7News was told the truck will be removed from the scene and the driver will be cited.
