Teens arrested after fight at HS basketball game
HAVERHILL, Mass. (WHDH) -- Multiple arrests were made after a brawl broke out at a basketball game at Haverhill High School Tuesday night.
Seven teenagers, two from Haverhill, and five from Methuen High School were arrested.
They were arraigned on charges of disorderly conduct and assault. Police say the feud started during a hockey match between the schools Saturday, then continued on Twitter leading up to Tuesday night's basketball game.
“They started going after the most aggressive students and arresting them. Once that occurred most of the group started to disperse, but at one point we called state police for mutual aid as we pretty much had our entire shift up there,” said an officer.
No arrests were made during Saturday’s hockey fight. And no one was seriously hurt in either incident.
