LAWRENCE, Mass. (WHDH) -- For the third week in a row, crews spent the day loading the trucks with salt and now they're standing by and waiting to see if they'll be heading back out .

Trucks in Lawrence are standing at the ready to hit the road again. The city prepared for the possibility of a third storm in three weeks.

“Let’s see what happens tonight. We're ready,” said Joel Chalas, Lawrence DPW.

Any snowfall will keep city crews on the job for another weekend. More than a couple inches of snow would mean private contractors would also be needed to help with snow removal.

“For my business I think it's great. But I feel bad for other people. It's going to be a mess,” said Dupont.

Lawrence got socked during the blizzard, picking up 28 inches of snow. The next week brought another six and with snow still piled high in parking lots and on street corners, people are trying to ready themselves for the possibility of more.

“I hate winter,” said a resident.

“I don't mind. He does all the shoveling,” said another.

The clean up jobs are starting to feel routine during a winter that's making for a lot of work.

“It’s great money-wise but for the plowing pushing-wise it can make for a lot of damage to the trucks,” said Dupont.
