Revere police search for teen who plays cop
REVERE, Mass. (AP) -- Revere police are on the lookout for a convicted felon who has a history of pretending to be an officer.
Police describe 18-year-old Sandro Anaya as "dangerous."
Officers say Anaya had a gold badge, handcuffs, a baton, a BB gun and a dash-mounted emergency light when he was pulled over last weekend for making an illegal left turn in a stolen pickup truck.
He was released on $1,000 bail but did not show for his Monday arraignment in Chelsea District Court.
Lt. Amy O'Hara tells the Boston Herald that Anaya has a history of approaching youths at night, pretending to be on officer by flashing a badge or handcuffs, and then stealing wallets and backpacks. He was convicted of one such crime last May.
