Dracut trio catches 900 pound tuna
DRACUT, Mass. (WHDH) -- A trio of men from Dracut went fishing one day, only to snag the catch of a lifetime.
Gregg Looney and his friends documented their July fishing expedition, never thinking they would wind up with a fish that rivals Jaws. They caught a nine-foot-long tuna that weighed around 900 pounds.
It took crews hours to muscle him on board. The video is so impressive, Looney and his friends are hoping it launches them to a national TV show appearance. It already made front page in the local paper.
But whatever comes next for them, they said it’s a catch they’ll never forget.
Looney said the fish, for its size, actually should have been about 200 pounds bigger. He plans on going back out on the waters next year with the same crew to see what they can catch next time.
