Custodian accused of taking lewd photos released
NORTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- A school custodian accused of trying to take a photo up a young girl’s skirt appeared in court for a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday.
Thomas Withers, 58, of Foxboro was released with a GPS tracking bracelet. He was ordered not to leave the state and to stay away from anyone under the age of 16.
“He’s allowed a window on Sundays for 90 minutes to go to church and at this point, judge, it’s my understanding he was relieved of his employment at the school,” said prosecutor Rachel Perlman.
Withers was arraigned Monday on multiple charges. The head custodian at Norton High School was arrested at a festival in Lowell over the weekend and charged with trying to take pictures up the skirt of an 11-year-old girl.
Police found pictures on his camera of Withers in women’s clothing as well as pictures and video up the skirts of girls, including several that were taken around Faneuil Hall in Boston on Aug. 3.
Police said they have no reports of any wrongdoing with Withers’ role at the high school.
