Two hospitalized after shooting in Lowell
LOWELL, Mass. (WHDH) -- Two people were hospitalized after shots were fired in Lowell. Shots were fired just before 11 p.m. in the area of Swift and Whipple Streets.
Police responded to a 911 call that somebody was in the neighborhood shooting. Initial reports were that somebody was shot in the stomach.
Police raced to the scene, then reports came that down another block there was a second person shot.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital. They were taken from Lowell by medical helicopter to Boston hospitals.
Police questioned a few people on the scene. It was unclear if they had any suspects but they had no made any arrests.
The two victims remain in the hospital. There was no update on their condition. Police were still on the scene early Wednesday morning.
