Man reunited with ring stolen 40 years ago
SALEM, Mass. (WHDH) -- Stuart Forbes Richards Jr. was recently reunited with a ring that was stolen more than forty years ago.
“Criminals broke in and took some things that belonged to me,” Richards said.
A man who was arrested several months ago during a drug bust in Salem was found wearing the ring with Richards’ initials engraved in it.
It took police five months to get identify Richards and get him his ring back.
“They really didn't have to do that. I want to thank them for being so thoughtful,” Richards said.
Richards said the ring had special meaning to him because it represented his graduation with a Bachelor’s of Science degree that he earned from Suffolk University in 1966 after being hard of hearing since grade school.
“I had to really struggle to get through,” Richards said.
