Students cyber bullying from fake social media profiles
NATICK, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police and the school department in Natick alerted parents to a potential danger online, where some students are creating fake social media accounts and using them to bully classmates.
Every public school parent received an email which said:
"...students are being impersonated by other students on social media websites. The information and pictures that are shared on the websites are sometimes inflammatory and derogatory. Students are also being harassed and bullied through social media websites."
“I do believe it's a bad problem. Just like any type of bulling social media bullying is a real problem,” said Alyssa Bravin, sophomore.
The email also encouraged parents to monitor their children’s online activities and in some cases remove access to devises at night or shut down some accounts if there are problems.
