Topsfield Firefighter saves man's life at Danvers gym
DANVERS, Mass. (WHDH) -- A 30-year-veteran of the Topsfield Fire Department was in the right place at the right time when a man collapsed in a Danvers gym.
Charlie Brown said he was working out around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning when his friend called out for help.
“I heard a noise by the treadmill and my friend said ‘Charlie, get over here,’” Brown said.
Brown’s friend had collapsed, he had not pulse and wasn’t breathing.
“As I started compression, I thought, ‘he’s got 2 little kids, we've got to do this right for his 2 little kids,’” Brown said.
After running to the front desk of the gym, Brown grabbed the AED and in a matter of seconds his friend was back alive.
