Murder suspect reportedly saw a movie before arrest
DANVERS, Mass (WHDH) -- More information is coming out about what 14-year-old Phillip Chism was doing between when he allegedly murdered his math teacher and when he was arrested.
Sources say Chism murdered 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer in a second floor bathroom at Danvers High School around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon before bringing her body out into the woods.
Then Chism reportedly went to eat and catch a movie at Hollywood Hits Cinema.
An employee at the cinema said they remember selling a ticket to a boy that looked like Chism for the 4:30 showing of “Blue Jasmine.”
The movie got out around 6 p.m. and sources say he then went to a nearby Wendy’s to eat.
From there it is unclear what he did before he was arrested at 12:30 a.m. on Route 1 in Topsfield.
The walk from Wendy’s to where he was arrested is about six miles and probably would have taken him about two hours.
