Find at NH yard sale could be worth $70,000

BOSTON -- A hidden treasure was uncovered in a local yard sale.

A man bought a painting for less than $100 in southern New Hampshire. It turns out, it was painted by American impressionist Frederick Frieseke.

Boston’s Skinner Auction House was contacted about the art. They said it could see for more than $70,000.

“The yard sale calls, honestly, they don’t tend to pan out all that often. Every now and then, we get a winner. They’re still out there, you know, over the years they’ve become increasingly hard to find, but with a little luck and a good eye, people still turn up wonderful things,” said ?

The artist’s grandson helped to confirm the painting’s authenticity. It will go up for auction on Friday.
