6-year-old catches 162-pound Blue Shark

MARSHFIELD, Mass. -- A 6-year-old fisherman made a bit catch while vacationing in Massachusetts from Florida.
Tanner Martin was fishing with his grandfather in Marshfield and caught a 162-pound Blue Shark.
“It was exciting,” said Tanner. “It was hard and I just kept at it.”
The fist was almost double his 4-foot size, measuring 7.5-feet long.
“It was like a giant,” said Tanner.
It took the fearless fisherman an hour to reel in the shark by himself. His father and grandfather were on the boat cheering him on the entire time.
“It just brought so much joy to me. I can’t really put it into words. I’m so proud of him,” said Craig Martin, Tanner’s father. “He’s just an unbelievable fisherman.”
The catch wasn’t Tanner’s first shark of the day.
“He fought another one for an hour and we lost it right at the boat. It broke the line,” said Craig.
Tanner was up north visiting his grandfather who lives in Humarock. He’s been fishing with his family since he was four.
"We practice out front. Out in front of my house. We reel…and practice, you know what I mean, the techniques of how to reel in a fish…he’s just totally into it,” said Craig.
He said it was his best catch yet.
“I loved it. I couldn’t believe it,” said Tanner.
