NH woman brought mom's ashes to bingo; urn stolen
ROCHESTER, N.H. -- A woman’s mother’s ashes were stolen when a thief broke into her car and stole the urn that contained them.
Dianne Bozzi of Rochester, N.H. lost her mother in 2002, and now thanks to the senseless act of some thieves, she’s feeling the pain of losing her mother all over again.
“It feels like she's passed away again because I felt such a strong link to Mom,” said Bozzi.
The urn containing her mother’s ashes, was stolen from the back seat of her car, which was parked in her front yard. Bozzie usually takes the urn with her to play bingo, to bring her good luck as part of the pact the two had.
“I had my window down just a little bit and I think they got in somehow from the other side," said Bozzi.
Police say the type of crime is not uncommon, but is unfortunate.
“I understand why she had it, her and her mom used to go to bingo and this was special to her and it’s unfortunate that they stole urn with the remains, now I hope that whoever took it is watching this or read the paper and has the sensitivity to return it,” said Captain Scott Dumas of the Rochester Police Department.
Bozzi holds out hope that the thieves have a heart and will return her mother to her.
“Whoever took my mom, please keep the bingo bag but please bring back my mom, I wont have you arrested I don’t even want to know who you are but just bring my mother home, please,” said Bozzi.
Rochester Police urge anyone with information to contact them.
