Dog makes swift recovery after 'ruff' rescue

MEDFORD, Mass. -- A postal worker recently made a miraculous discovery in Arlington, finding a small dog clinging to life in a cemetery.
Call it a ‘ruff’ rescue. Six-year-old Tessie was hiking through the woods with a dog-walker, when she wandered off. The dog found her way into downtown Medford and was hit by a car.
Seriously hurt, Tessie managed to limp to an Arlington cemetery where she spent the night alone.
The postal worker found her the next morning.
"It’s a miracle. When we thought she was first dead, then she was alive, then when we walked into Angel Memorial you could read the looks on their faces boy we got a bad thing right here,” Tessie’s owner said. “And now she's home with us, alive and well. And whatever problems she has, we are going to work through it with her."
Tessie was rushed into surgery with a broken pelvis.
She was already back with her owner Wednesday, and on the road to recovery.
