Korean War vet's Mass. family gets lost medal

LEXINGTON, Mass. (AP) -- A Massachusetts family has reclaimed one of two Purple Heart medals a relative won for his Korean War service.
A ceremony was held Saturday.
Air Force 1st Lt. Thomas E. Hadley II was 22 when he died flying in a combat mission in 1951. He was from Michigan.
One of his medals ended up in Pennsylvania. A city sanitation supervisor found it, and his grandson inherited it. He turned to The Military Order of the Purple Heart to help find the rightful owner.
The hunt ended with the discovery of Hadley's 84-year-old sister in Lexington, Mass. She says her family didn't even know the medal was missing but getting it back is a fitting final recognition of her brother's service.
