WESTFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -- While there were mixed feelings about the Leap Day snowstorm, skiers welcomed it with open arms.

The late winter wallop was welcomed with open arms by people who love and had missed the snow.

“It’s awesome. This is the first real snow all year and it’s great to have it we really need the snow, the mountains have been suffering,” Sammi Rubin said.

The dry winter has left people who love outdoor activities in winter a little down.

I’m actually glad it’s snowing. I’m originally from Texas; I’ve been up here for 20 years. I actually love the snow in the winter,” said Courtney Negliola.

A fresh layer of snow is a sight for sore eyes here at Nashoba Valley.

“It’s hope; we could have a spring season yet. We could have some spring skiing which would be great,” said Geoff Hadley.

“I’m happy ‘cause we have a championship race on Sunday so we're gonna have a lot of snow. We’re going to have fresh snow,” said Shane Cressman.

But spring is just few weeks away. For now, snow lovers will enjoy what’s left of our quiet winter.

“We live in New England and we wanted a white Christmas, we wanted snow,” said Negliola.
