Extra security at Tewksbury school after alleged threat

TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WHDH)-- Police will be at the Wynn Middle School in Tewksbury Thursday morning to serve as extra security.
Officers are investigating a report of a threat allegedly made by a seventh grade student.
A parent told 7news that Wednesday night the principal left a message saying administrators had learned a student planned to bring a gun to school Thursday.
Police say the threat was made through a text message.
Officers say the student told them the text was sent to prevent another student from bullying him anymore.
According to police, the seventh grader does not have access to a gun.
The student is not allowed to go to school or ride the bus until further notice.
