Spring surprise for Vermont skiers

KILLINGTON, Vt. (WHDH) -- Snow lovers received a nice spring surprise in Vermont after some mountain resorts got more than a foot of new powder.
Now skiers and boarders are hurrying to take advantage of the unexpected conditions.
Killington Mountain was covered in snow after 19 inches of powder fell as of Tuesday afternoon -- Killington even reopened its gondola so visitors could get one last taste of what winter 2012 had to offer.
This dumping of snow came after a lousy performance from Mother Nature this winter. It was a welcome sign for spring skiers who had been asking themselves ‘What happened to winter?’
The resort hopes to stay open through the end of the month if the weather stays cool.
