MALDEN, Mass. (WHDH) -- A local store owner fed up with being robbed has decided not to close up shop.
Volunteers helped owner Dharam Jain to revamp the Malden Mini Market's layout to make it more secure.
Some Malden high school students even chipped in to help him pack up his shelves before the remodel.
Jain’s store was robbed twice in four days, with suspects in one of those robberies still on the loose.
Both employees quit out of concern for their safety, leaving the owner unable to staff the store.
Malden’s mayor even reached out -- offering his help to persuade the store to remain open.
