MALDEN, Mass. (AP) -- A beloved member of the Malden High School community is being mourned.

Police say 54-year-old Paul Famiglietti died Saturday when the motorcycle he was operating veered into the guard rail on Route 2 in Westminster.

Students and teachers gathered at Malden High on Sunday to remember the man who provided valuable guidance to generations of students.

Famiglietti wasn't a teacher, but oversaw study hall, lending a steady hand and advice.

One student said "he held the school together."

The accident remains under investigation, but family members say Famiglietti may have experienced some sort of medical problem just before the crash.
