WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) -- The father of the toddler who went missing from her Waterville home four months ago says the time has come to turn the focus back on his daughter.

Justin DiPietro said at a candlelight vigil attended by about 60 people on Thursday night that too much attention has been placed on him and on Trista Reynolds, the mother of Ayla Reynolds.

Ayla was 20 months old when she was reported missing from her father's home Dec. 17. The couple does not live together.

DiPietro made his first public comments on his daughter's disappearance since Jan. 2.

He has said he thinks his daughter was abducted. Law enforcement authorities have discounted a kidnapping.

The Morning Sentinel reports that the Rev. Alan Imes asked everyone to set aside suspicion or anger.
