Groom's mom arrested at Danvers wedding

DANVERS, Mass. (AP) -- Danvers police say a weekend wedding turned violent, resulting in two arrests and possible charges against the groom.

Police say they were called to the Danversport Yacht Club just after midnight Sunday.

They say the groom's brothers tried to buy drinks at the bar and were refused, so the "irate" groom yelled at an employee.

Police tell The Salem News the bride's brother intervened and wound up being punched.

As the groom and his new brother-in-law wrestled on the floor, the groom's mother, Darlene DeIorio, went after the bride's mom.

DeIorio pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at her arraignment. A guest was also arrested but not brought to court.

The groom will be summoned to a clerk's hearing on assault charges in the future.
