NH man charged with stealing police cruiser
ROLLINSFORD, N.H. (AP) -- An 18-year-old New Hampshire man is being held on $5,000 bail on charges he stole a police cruiser after first trying to steal an officer's badge.
Jack Drukker, of Nottingham, was arrested Tuesday evening in Rollinsford and charged with car theft, assault of a police officer and resisting arrest.
Rollinsford Police Chief Bob Ducharme said the incident began when Drukker approached an officer who had responded to a car accident.
Foster's Daily Democrat reported the Drukker is accused of lunging at the officer and attempting to steal the badge off his uniform before running off and jumping into the officer's police cruiser.
Police say Drukker drove the car about a half mile before turning around and driving back.
Drukker was arraigned on Wednesday.
