Lowell girl left alone at closed day care
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) -- A Lowell mother is demanding answers after a bus driver dropped her 7-year-old daughter off at a closed day care center where the girl waited alone for 45 minutes.
Theresa James says she has reported the Monday afternoon incident to police and state officials.
James tells The Sun that her daughter eventually went next door to use the bathroom, and someone there let her use the phone.
James blames the bus company. The drivers are supposed to make sure an adult meets any child they drop off, and they had been informed that the day care center was closed for vacation. They were supposed to bring children to another facility.
James says someone from the bus company apologized, but that person had no comment when contacted by the newspaper.
