TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police in Tewksbury are searching for a robber after officers say he pointed a gun at a woman at an ATM and demanded money.

The victim had just made a withdrawal at Stoneham Savings drive-up ATM in Tewksbury when she says the robber walked up to her on foot.

“He just came up between me and the building…and he just said empty it out,” the victim told a dispatcher. “And then he ran back to those apartments afterwards.”

The woman told police the robber was armed.

“He had a gun,” the victim told a dispatcher.

Police sent a recorded call to neighbors and then launched a massive search that lasted four hours -- looking for a suspect described as about 19 or 20, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue surgical gloves.

“We sent all the available cruisers. We asked for the State Police air wing, we had our canine go down there,” said Dep. Chief John Voto, Tewksbury Police Department.

Police are still searching for the suspect. If anyone has information, call the Tewksbury Police Department.
