BOXFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -- A man was killed when he fell out of a moving car in Boxford late Tuesday night. Though an investigation was ongoing Wednesday morning, early indications were that the man may have jumped from the car following an argument.
The incident happened just before 11:45 p.m. Tuesday on Route 95 just north of Exit 52.
The woman driving the car, who had two young children with her, was on the phone with state police following the incident. Police say she did stop initially, but then got scared and drove off before calling them. Police found the woman in Somerville and took her to the Medford state police barracks.
The car she was driving, a blue Nissan Maxima with Maine plates, was in the driveway of a home in Somerville.
Meanwhile, the medical examiner on the scene of the incident on Route 95 confirmed that the man who exited the car had died.
The woman was released without being charged Wednesday morning. The investigation is ongoing.
Police say the two children, ages eleven and five, were safe following the incident.
