WILMINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Six people were taken to the hospital overnight after being exposed to hazardous materials in Wilmington.

Crews say an unknown substance was leaking inside a technology manufacturing company late Wednesday night.

It's not believed the substance’s levels were strong enough to cause serious problems.

"The six people were transported to area hospitals, only as a precaution,” Deputy Fire Chief John Brown said. “There were no ill effects exhibited by any of the people transported."

The Wilmington fire department says more information will likely be released later Thursday morning.
