HOOKSETT, N.H. (AP) -- Police say a tractor-trailer hauling broccoli caught on fire on Interstate 93 in Hooksett, N.H.

Police said the truck caught fire on the southbound side of the highway by Exit 9-S on Saturday morning. They said the truck was headed to Andover, Mass.

WMUR-TV reported the driver said he pulled over after seeing sparks and heavy smoke coming from the engine. He said the front of the cab exploded just after he exited the vehicle. Police identified him as 49-year-old Brian Lee from Quebec. He was not hurt.

Police said hazardous materials crews were called to the scene to clean a diesel leak.
