KEENE, N.H. (AP) -- New Hampshire police who were helping a bleeding skateboarder say they soon discovered that he had stolen and crashed a fire truck.

Keene police say they responded early Saturday to a report of a man who had fallen off a skateboard and was bleeding. While talking to him, they say they learned that he had stolen a special operations vehicle from the Keene Fire Department and had abandoned it.

Police say 18-year-old Scott Ibelle entered the fire department garage through a closed door and struck the brick entryway while driving the vehicle out.

Ibelle is being held in jail on $10,000 cash bail and couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

He is scheduled to appear in court Monday and faces a felony burglary charge and three misdemeanors.
