GLOUCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) -- A little girl whose lemonade stand has raised over $1,000 for a family that lost everything in a fire is making a big different the only way she knows how.
Bailee Militello handed over $1,000 she raised at her lemonade stand for the Cardone family who lost their home and dog in a fire.
“Very nice to meet you and thank you we appreciate it from our whole family. You’re going to make me cry now so I’m going to put on my glasses,” Steve Cardone told Bailee.
The 6-year-old entrepreneur spent three days pouring lemonade at her Gloucester home -- $1 a cup -- hoping to help a family who lost so much.
“Tremendously heartwarming that just this little girl spent three hot days in the sun to help my family I just can’t thank her enough,” said Steve Cardone.
Bailee’s mom saw the aftermath of the fire and showed it to her daughter who quickly decided where the profits from her very popular lemonade stand would go.
“We sold lemonade for three days but it was great that it got on the newspaper and on the news and more people and more people were able to give because of that and we ended up raising $1,000. We were thankful that the people of Gloucester, they all donated,” said Brieana Militello, Bailee’s mother.
Not only did Bailee raise money for the family, she also brought a special gift.
Bailee is a little girl who's already touching so many lives with her smart a caring business mind.
The Cardone family doesn't have much of anything left after the fire so Bailee's money will truly help them start the process of rebuilding.
