MOULTONBOROUGH, N.H. (AP) -- Authorities say the driver of a truck carrying 18 tons of bottled water lost control on a steep road and crashed in a wooded area.
The semi-truck began picking up speed on Route 171 Thursday afternoon and crashed through 200 feet of woods before hitting a large tree. A towing crew spent nearly six hours pulling the 80,000-pound trailer and rig out of the trees.
State police tell WMUR-TV that it appears the truck's brakes failed on the way down the hill.
The driver has been treated a hospital for a deep cut on his arm.
