NASHUA, N.H. (AP) -- Police say a man shot in front of a supermarket in Nashua, N.H., was specifically targeted and that they are searching for a "person of interest."

Police told residents in the area Thursday night to stay inside their homes following the shooting outside a Shaw's supermarket about 6:30 p.m. They had said they were searching for a suspect whom they considered armed and dangerous.

No arrests had been made as of Friday. Lt. Michael Moushegian of the police detective bureau told The Telegraph of Nashua the victim was targeted and there is not a more general threat to the community.

The victim, a 26-year-old man, was shot once and is recovering at a Boston hospital. Panicked shoppers ran into the store. No one else was hurt.
