Fitchburg man thanks anonymous Good Samaritan

FITCHBURG, Mass. (WHDH) -- A Fitchburg man was rolling into danger when a Good Samaritan saved the day.
Gerald Grillo got out of his car to help his wife when his car began rolling down the street.
“Thinking I could catch it, which I got my foot as far as the floorboard when I got bowled over by the door and got dragged along maybe 20 to 30 feet,” said Grillo.
His wife was watching as the car rolled over Grillo’s foot and dragged him towards a busy road.
“I’m honestly thinking, ‘How am I going to get out of this,’” said Grillo.
Luckily another driver saw what was happening and jumped into action.
“All of a sudden I heard a thud and I looked up and there was a vehicle that had stopped our rolling vehicle,” said Grillo.
When Grillo realized what happened he wanted to thank the driver for saving him and the other people on the road, but the man politely refused and drove off.
Now Grillo has a message for the man.
“He saved me a lot of trouble, a lot of trouble. If I could do anything to help him anyway I would be glad to do it,” said Grillo.
Grillo’s foot was bruised when the car rolled over it, but he is otherwise okay.
