DANVILLE, N.H. (WHDH) -- An elusive monkey has been spotted in a small town in New Hampshire.
Michelle Andino said she saw the exotic animal Friday night.
“It’s shocking, it’s very shocking to me,” said Andino.
She said she saw the animal climbing a tree and what caught her attention was a “white, hairy butt.”
“I said that doesn't look right,” said Andino.
Michelle’s family had their doubts.
“They didn't believe me. My mother said actually I have bad vision,” she said.
“I didn't think it was a monkey. There’s no monkeys around here! If it was a monkey he’d be swinging to another tree and out of here!” said Andino’s father, Felix Padilla.
Her dad grabbed a flashlight and couldn't believe what was right in front of him.
“I went like that and I could see him sitting there,” he said. “I mean a monkey? In this part? Unheard of!”
However, 11 years ago to the month in fact, this same town was abuzz over another monkey. It was never caught, and never spotted on camera. Locals used bananas and oranges to lure it out, but that's no longer an option here.
“I ate them all,” laughed Padilla.
But the family is positive they had a brush with the town's most infamous guest.
“It was definitely a monkey and I’m convinced,” said Andino.
The family contacted police and animal control, but they have not heard back from either.
